The Purpose-modified Kindy
Kindy Bubz is purpose-modified, to meet the needs of all children between 0-2 years. The safety of all children are of paramount importance.
Children are able to attend all day sessions, morning or afternoon sessions. It is advisable for children to attend at least two sessions a week, to become familiar with the staff and the routines of the Kindy.
Kindy Bubz has employs five qualified early childhood teachers and two teachers in-training. They are all employed full time so the children and their families experience consistency with familiar people. |
|
We endeavour to provide an exciting, nurturing, stimulating, educational environment for all children in our care.
To ensure that the individual and safety needs of all children are being met, Kindy Bubz operates two separate wings:
- Those children, who are not mobile, are in one area. They will have their own play area, sleep room and play ground.
- Those children, who are mobile, have their own play area, sleep room and play ground.
We feel that it is very important to separate the children so that they are safe in their own environment with others who are at the same stage as them.
All rooms within the building are temperature controlled, summer and winter.

The Programme
Kindy Bubz integrates both care and education at all times. Kindy Bubz promotes a well-balanced, semi-structured educational programme for children aged between 0-2, within a caring, nurturing environment. Teachers in Kindy Bubz provide children with a wide and varied, stimulating range of materials to teach skills and develop concepts that enhance learning, both individually and collectively.

The 1-2 Year Olds:
This area is specifically set up for those children who are between 1-2 years old and mobile. There are many stimulating activities and interest areas set up for your child to explore.
We have an inside time first, and the children can explore the many inside activities. The staff also set up a daily theme activity for the children to participate in.
Other activities in our programme include…
- planned and spontaneous activities
- indoor and outdoor activities
- active and quiet activities
- whole group, small group and individual activities
Through activities, the programme will:
- increase the child's ability to communicate, by developing vocabulary and self-confidence, through singing activities, stories, rhymes, and interactions between child/child and child/adult
- develop children's skills of problem solving and numeracy by playing with puzzles and construction material, pretend play and by participating in songs, rhymes and musical rhythm activities
- encourage children to develop creativity and imagination by playing and doing art and craft activities, dressing up in the family corner
- encourage children to develop an enquiring mind through water play, sand play, puzzles, exploring the environment around them, interacting with toys, constructing with building blocks
- encourage children to develop strategies and skills for initiating, maintaining, and enjoying a relationship with one or more children in a variety of contexts
- developing gross motor skills through using ride-on toys, trikes, climbing on playground, using balls, swinging on the swings

Throughout the programme we have a strong emphasis on developing early numeracy and early literacy skills. This is incorporated into the daily programme through:
- puzzles – problem-solving
- counting objects
- matching colours
- weekly theme topics
- developing their fine motor skills through participating in many activities encouraging children to use pincer grips to pick up objects, manipulate the play dough, using paint brushes, using crayons, finger paint, turning pages in books, finger puppets etc.
- number songs and finger rhymes
- reading and listening to stories, and enjoying stories. This is very important to encourage the children to develop an interest in books and listening to and interacting with stories.
