Our Unique Kindyz Programme
Sessions alternate between Kindy Tweenz and Kindy Kidz. The groups are split by age (youngest and oldest).
Long hours in big centres with children of all ages is not the best for learning. That’s where we’re different. Our unique programme exposes your children to two dedicated teams of early childhood teachers every day. So young learners remain stimulated with varied and fun learning activities all day. And when ready, children will move from the youngest to the oldest group. This means they stay with their friends and children their own age. And even better, Kindy Tweenz and Kindy Kidz are right next each other so the process works perfectly.
Four Year Old Extension Programme
Children in our oldest group at Kindy Kidz take their learning a step further in readiness for their transition to school. We continue our emphasis on literacy and numeracy. Some of our activities include:
- Recognising letters of the alphabet, their names and their sounds
- Writing their own first and last names
- Developing a love of books
- Retelling and illustrating stories
- Telling their own stories then copying teachers’ writing
- Using our carefully selected online reading and maths programmes
- Beginning to use word lists and reading books, if they’re ready
- Counting and recognising bands of numbers e.g. 1-5, 1-12, 12-20
- Solving puzzles and problems
Every child has their own workbook containing an individual set of activities. At the beginning of each term, teachers assess each child’s development. Then they set personalised objectives for the term, which are shared with parents. Many of the children also enjoy homework activities (which are not compulsory). But it does help reinforce what is being learnt during the day.
Consistent Routines
In preparation for school, our programme incorporates the predictability of regular routines while still enjoying the fun of kindy.
- Group mat times, encouraging confidence to join in, listen and show respect for others
- Theme activities, which are topical and often initiated by the children ensuring greater interest
- Large and small group activities
- Individual one-on-one activities with teachers, particularly focusing on literacy and numeracy
- Active and quiet activities
- Creative activities such as painting, collage, sewing, printing etc.
- Collaborative activities such as construction blocks, Lego, drama, music
- Confidence building activities and those that develop co-ordination and gross motor skills
- Inside, outside and meal times
Opportunities for children to learn will always be available to them. Every child develops at their own pace so our teachers will plan activities carefully to incorporate all the different levels and abilities into the programme.
